Hi ... can anyone throw some light on this please ?
I spent AGES uploading, zipping , converting etc 8 wallpapers and they where all rejected, it said due to guidelines. But there are lots of guidelines and didnt specify the EXACT reason ?

Well confused and dissollusioned now.

Let me try and be nice.  Man they were not very good.  Thats about as nice as I can put it.

Without the wallpapers it's hard to tell.

But you can go the other way . . . look at each guideline . . . are there ANY that you might violate?

Or, more commonly it appears, does your wallpaper look like the hundreds of others that are posted?

Without seeing them, it's hard to say. A lot of us go through rhis, though. You are not alone.

tips; Watch copyrighted images and such. (Logo's, movies, etc)
It should 'work' as a desktop wall...icons don't get lost in it, etc.
Take another look at the wall. I have had to 'rework' a few before they got in.

Sometimes it was a matter of 'perspective' that was off. That can get you a lot, especailly if you're trying to attempt something with a 3D effect.

Don't give up. I even posted one of my walls in the forums for advice. I knew the perspective or something was off, but it's hard for me to see it all the time when in my head 'I get it". Get it?

You can check out my DA site to see multiple examples of stuff I did before a version finally got through moderation. The work may not be to your liking/taste, but it may help you understand what they look at.Link

Good Luck and Keep Trying.

I just took a quick peek at you DA site. Your stuff is nice, but I can see why it may not get posted here. Words on the wall can get you everytime. A lot of people just don't like to see text on their walls. And if I can be honest without hurting your feelings..I really want to be nice...a lot of the walls there look more like greeting card faces. Like ZUBAZ sated " does your wallpaper look like the hundreds of others that are posted?". So many walls get submitted here, they really do look for 'originality or spark of originality' among other things. On my DA site, about a third to half of what's there got rejected here, including the most recent one. I'm to the point now, I knew it would be but gave it a shot..just in case. lol. I just don't let it get to me.

Keep trying.
And please forgive me if I offended you in any way. Just trying to help.

Thank you for the responces and your feedback.
I think there are some AMAZING pics here . wall papers etc, but a lot of them are very Samey and some are even rubbish.

About 90% are the same and all look like they where created in bryce ? is that it ? the other 10% are FAB though and i have thoroughly enjoyed looking through them.
My artwork , i have been told by soooooooo many people is quite DIFFERENT from 90% of what they usualy see on da, or other wp sites. So im kinda at you saying they are the same as others, cus that is the single FIRST time out of about 1,000 odd people who have ever said that lol
But hey, your entitled to your opinion.

The ones i submited where :

spider trap
resident evil 4
blood makes noise
madame madusa
girls just wanna have fun
spread your wings
you are loved
and i think the last one was
where flowers grow

Anyway ... shocked now and wish i never paid the subscription money, tut ... would have got me 6 months on DA LMAO

I dont know about anyone else but... All your links bring me to a "Forbidden" page, not to any of the images...

Like I said, they look nice...and perhaps they are different from other stuff. But a lot of it looks like premade 'brush applications', which are pretty popular on DA. No one is trying to take away from what you have created. I guess there is a slight difference between 'looking like everything else' and 'originality' I can't explain.

Perhaps less brushes and more designing with the program? Or designing 'around the vrushes' and not so much 'with the brushes'?

Anything with a signature/web site address will most likely not pass moderation. Same goes for overbearing text, images pasted together from other sources, use of filters, etc. Ideally walls should work as a wall, match a theme, be able to display icons and have a decent skill level.

I looked at some of the WPs. And they are nice. Better than anything I could create; but not anything I would want on my desktop.

I don't want to have to find my icons . . and I would with yours.

The art is good . . but not the usability.

I don't know any women who'd want a playboy logo on their desk. The spider is interesting, but both have text & colors that aren't so great on the eyes...

The text is a lot. Even for me.

I don't think they are that bad Ms. paperfairys. I've seen worst here. But every one has an opinion and theirs matters more when it comes to moderation.

Sad but true.....

Ms. paperfairys ...those were ALL rejected because they had prominent signatures, which is a no-no [generally] on wallpapers.

No-one really 'wants' to see your name on their screen...although they 'might' like to see your walls themselves, without the distraction of a prominent or stylized 'nick' or signature....
